Born and raised in East Texas, William E. “Bo” Davis, III obtained his under-graduate degree in philosophy from Rhodes College, graduating cum laude. During his time there, he worked for an internet start-up company, where his passion for technology began.
Seeking to merge his passion for technology with the law, Mr. Davis attended Baylor Law School where he was Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review, a member of the Order of Barristers, a finalist in the Dawson & Sodd Moot Court Competition and a member of the semi-finalist team in the American Trial Lawyers Association National Moot Court Competition. After law school, Mr. Davis took a position at McKool Smith, P.C., one of the preeminent patent litigation boutiques in the country. At McKool Smith, he focused his practice on intellectual property matters, primarily patent litigation in the Eastern District of Texas, where he developed a thorough understanding of patent law and the Eastern District's local rules of court.
Mr. Davis's clients are both plaintiffs and defendants, Fortune 500 companies and individual inventors in cases involving a variety of fields including: medical devices, wireless communications technology, supply chain management software, portable media players, and hand-held wireless data technology.
Mr. Davis has experience in all phases of patent litigation. He has argued Markman hearings, been responsible for expert reports and depositions, and participated in a number of patent trials.
In 2008, Mr. Davis started The Davis Firm, PC in Longview, Texas.
